Chats on Outpost come in two forms. Direct and Deal Specific.

Direct Chats: Direct chats are chats that have nothing to do with a specific company. These chats are just lines of communication you might be having with your team members about various back office topics, life, social media, etc.

To get to Direct Chats navigate to the top left of your screen and find the Chat icon.

Click the Chat icon and a drop down will appear.

Click any of the contacts in your network and a new window will pop out wherein you can send a chat.

Deal Chats: These are chats that are directly related to a deal. Let’s say you just got off a zoom with a potential investment and want to express something or ask something to one of your team members about the market. Deal chats allow users to store their team thoughts and discussions directly to a deal. This means no more needing to scan through slack, or dig through your old texts/emails to find where you left off. You can find Deal Chats within every Company File.
